Tell us how you became involved with ballooning?

My wife and I began attending the Albuquerque Fiesta with her parents in the 90s We loved crewing and the spirit of the event. I had been a fixed wing pilot since I was 17, flew helicopters in the Marines, and was flying the Airbus for FedEx. But when the guy we were crewing for gave me my very first ride, right off of the balloon park field, I was hooked. A couple of years later my wife and I parked our RV in ABQ and I spent 6 weeks with Beth Wright-Smith and Ron Sanchez learning that airline pilots don’t know everything about flying.
