Our website address is: https://aviation-ranch.com. We are a family friendly location for the Hot Air Balloonist Enthusiast. Our intent is to have a family friendly website as well.

Comments

As a member on the site you may have privileges to create calendar events and postings on the News and Events page. These items are reviewed by the Ranch Boss before being posted on the public side of the site.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. Your media will become the property of Aviation-Ranch.com. We reserve the right to use your images and media for any reasons we should find appropriate. Please upload only media you have taken personally.

Cookies

Who we share your data with

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. Calendar events expire when the event date has past.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. The site moderator shall also have the rights to alter, edit or delete any comments that may be offensive or improper.

Welcome to our site.

When you register to become a member on the site you will start out as a Cow Poke. Once we have had the time to evaluate the authenticity of your account and your ties to the Balloon world we will upgrade your account from a Cow Poke to a Ranch Hand or even to the Chuck Wagon! After you have participated on the site you may even be promoted to a Cowboy or become a Telegraph Operator! This will give you the permissions to post topics in the news section of the site and to be able to list items on the Aviation-Ranch calendar. Please be tolerant with us as we review new accounts. We will get your account upgraded as soon as we can. Adding a photo of yourself and a background cover image will move you up the fence line faster!
